Point-3: Sales Reporting

The SALES module controls and reports all aspects of the SALES system.

It is where selling data, such as names, selling prices, and programming data is created then sent to the POS terminal to program it and after you have made sales from the register (or P.O.S. module or debtors module), the data is collected, processed, and stored for reporting on.

The data stored in this module includes a description of each item for sale, a number to sell it by ( called a PLU number), its selling price, the stock code of the item it is selling, information on specials and any programming information to send to the cash register such as links to a department or group for additional reporting at the cash register.

At the end of a days trading this module will manually or automatically read the cash register, record the sales performance of each item and reduce the stock on hand by the quantity of stock sold. If it is installed the accounts receivable module and POS module also sells these items.

If the General Ledger module is installed sales will be posted direct to the preset GL accounts.

After the register is read you have the ability to correct mistakes, and report on sales and stock levels in the stock system or create a report of items which need to be reordered. Cash register transactions and functions are reported on and accumulated for analysis by day, week, month and year. These include sales from each clerk, sales made each hour of the day, gross sales, net sales, number of customers, sales made by cash, cash received for laybys, cash in the drawer, sales made by cheque, sales made by credit card, number of times the drawer was opened without making a sale etc.

Multiple item files can be held at the same time and activated when required for times like summer stock or winter stock etc.

Data security is important and so considerable effort has gone into protecting sales data. This includes the prevention of items being deleted while sales data exists and the prevention of items being deleted from the register while they are still in the computer and prevention of items being deleted from the computer while they still exist in the register.

A number of associated operations are also catered for in this module. Some are, shelf label printing, item label printing with or without bar codes, automatically generating new bar codes, making and costing recipes and reporting on or calculating proposed profit margins.

All current and recent Australian version Casio communicating cash registers are able to communicate to this module and because of the flexibility of Casio communications you may have different cash registers for each store or location, giving you the chance of using the right machine for every application.

Communication to any cash register can be by direct cable, or modem link and password control is included to protect sensitive information.

Multiple registers (if the register supports it ) can have their data consolidated automatically if required.

Specials between any two dates are also catered for.

Reporting includes sales last day, week to date, month to date, year to date, last year, each day this week and each week this month and if required, reporting is available for any day/week/year for any range of dates.

Point-3 is available in single location or multi location versions and has considerable power for handling multiple location applications.
